Newly Constructed State-of-the-Art Medical Office Building Provides 24×7 Ambulatory Care, Making Healthcare More Accessible and Affordable to West Valley Citizens
Providing improved access to healthcare services for the growing population in Greater Phoenix, Akos MD announced on June 3 the opening of the Akos Medical Campus in partnership with Apricus Health. The cutting-edge, newly constructed healthcare facility is located at 10825 W. McDowell Road on an eight-acre site in the heart of Avondale’s Health-Tech Corridor. The first of two 68,000 sq. ft. medical office buildings is now open, and the second phase of the medical campus is expected to open in Q3, 2022.
To celebrate this major milestone for the city and local health care industry, the Avondale Local Edge hosted a virtual ribbon-cutting earlier today featuring building tours and information on medical suite timeshare opportunities. Speakers included Dr. Anand, Ken Chapa, Avondale Economic Development director and Mike Pineda, Avondale councilman.
Akos Medical Campus
Featuring contemporary architecture and design, the first of the three-story medical office buildings is open for business for patients of the 24×7 Apricus Health Urgent Care center, and Peak Heart & Vascular, one of the only multispecialty groups in the state. Peak Surgery Center of Avondale, Apricus Imaging Center of Avondale and the Apricus Surgery Center of Avondale are expected to open in the coming months. Over 20K sq. ft. of Class A second-floor medical space is available for lease.
Plans for the second medical office are currently in the works. The Akos Medical Campus is being developed by National Cardiovascular Management, which specializes in designing optimal healthcare environments.
“The healthcare industry as a whole is booming with new and specialized types of facilities, this building’s opening is just the beginning of the Akos Medical Campus,” said Tim Cozatt, COO of National Cardiovascular Management. “The desirable location, upscale image and identity make it ideal for healthcare providers seeking to lower overhead and benefit from strong referral partners.”
The City of Avondale estimates the Akos Medical Campus will bring 400 high-impact, high-paying jobs to the city, including positions for physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, medical assistants, clerical staff, and ultrasound and X-ray technicians.
“Avondale’s growing Health-Tech Corridor is becoming the location of choice for health-tech innovators such as Akos and Apricus Health and we welcome the immense value they bring to our community,” said Avondale Mayor Kenn Weise. “Our convenient location, immense talent pipeline and Phoenix’s booming West Valley population will provide them with a strategic edge as they continue their expansion.”
